Dual Lock to have a higher tensile strength to what can be expected
from traditional hook and loop velcro, and 5 times greater holding power!
3M™ Dual Lock™ is available from Ram Solutions in two forms; the standard "SJ3552" which has a width of 1", and the low profile "SJ4575" tape - available in 5" and 0.63" widths. The low profile version has similar properties to standard Dual Lock, but is thinner, and allows greater flexibility.
The two types of Dual Lock each have approximately 170 interlocking stems per sqaure inch. This allows either to be used to help securely fasten your electronics or other gadgets to surfaces or to a RAM Mounting System while allowing for quick and easy engagement and disengagement.
Dual Lock will stick securely to any of the following materials; bare metals, painted metals, fiberglass, structural composites, glass, sealed wood, powered paint, ABS, acrylic, polycarbonate, rigid vinyl, polyethylene, polypropylene.
Final performance depends on actual conditions, including the fastener selected, the conditions in which the fastener is applied, the time and environmental conditions in which it is expected to perform. Because many of these factors are uniquely within the user's knowledge and control, it is required that the user evaluate the 3M™ product to determine whether it is fit for a particular purpose and suitable for the user's method of application and desired end use.
As a general rule, four square inches of fastener area per pound of static load to be supported is suggested as a starting point for evaluation. However, more or less area may be needed depending on specific conditions or end use applications.
